Jackalope seeks understudies for the World Premiere of THE LIGHT FANTASTIC by Ike Holter, and directed by Artistic Director Gus Menary. Note: multiple understudies will have guaranteed performances, all understudies will have an invited understudy run.

GRACE: Latinx, female identifying, early 30s. Razor sharp sense of humor. A matriarch in training. Doesn't show weakness until it's legit at the breaking point.

EDDIE: Latinx, male identifying, mid 30s. Gregarious and loud but deeply fucked up. Needs to be talked down to and appreciates it. Beer drinker. Bad with responsibility but great with communication. A "Cool Dad" who had his kid when he was still in high school.

KATRINA: Latinx, female identifying, 18. Daughter of EDDIE. Incredibly intelligent. Weaponizes kindness. Nosy. Can speak like an adult and guilt trip like Grandma. Ready to LEAVE FOREVER.

FIONA: Latinx or Caucasian, female identifying, 60s. Has held everybody up for so long that she's ready to sit the hell down. Undergoing chemotherapy. Hates being supported. Refuses to lose wit even when it's being ripped away.

HARRIET: Black, female identifying, 30s. Cop. Walks into every room with her hands on her hips. Nothing gets by her. Laughs at her own jokes. Likes cop stereotypes. Petty and vindictive. Needy for validation.

ADAM: Person of color, male identifying, 20s-30s. Confidently nervous, warm, nurse.

Pay: $150 Stipend, $25 per performance if they go on, an invited understudy run.
