Casting for Stone Soup Shakespeare's 2018 Tour of Taming of the Shrew. Looking for ensemble actors who are open to collaboration and excited to bring ideas into the room. Actors of all gender identities and ethnicities strongly encouraged. Experience with movement, music, devised work, and/or Shakespeare is a plus! The company will be in residence in Carbondale, IL from April 18-May 21 for rehearsals and southern Illinois performances. The company will return to Chicago on May 22 with continuing performances in parks throughout the Midwest through approximately June 10.
Travel, room and board for out-of-town residency is included; actors will also be paid a stipend.
Auditions will be held at About Face Theatre (5252 N Broadway).
Please prepare 2 differing interpretations of the same 1-minute Shakespeare monologue. If you sing or play an instrument, please also prepare a song of any genre no longer than 60 seconds (singers, please be prepared to sing acapella). The audition process will last approximately an hour and will include a warm-up, monologue/song, and sides. Sides will be provided with audition time.
