Description:

Casting now for a Chicago Musical Theatre Festival presentation of a new musical by Friend Dog Studios: "The Ballad of Lefty and Crabbe." Performances will be staged readings with some blocking and choreography. Auditions will be held Monday, October 23rd, venue TBA.

The Show:
Comedy partners Lefty and Crabbe are faced with the slow decline of Vaudeville and the rise of Hollywood. As they struggle to break into film, the pressure to conform grows stronger and threatens to change their looks, their act, and possibly leave their partnership in ruins.

Breakdown:
We're especially looking for actors with strong character range and comedic timing. Improv/comedy welcome. This show is basically a cartoon.

-Lefty: Charming Vaudeville comic with a quick wit and a big heart. Heavyset.

-Crabbe: Dedicated, passionate Vaudeville comic.

-Ensemble: Will play 5-10 ensemble characters. Looking for range and the ability to play absurd characters with precision.

Time Commitment:

Rehearsals:
February 3rd-7th. Daytime availability is desired.

Performances:
Wednesday, February 7 at 8pm
Friday, February 9 at 7:30pm
Saturday, February 17 at 3pm
Sunday, February 18 at 12pm
