Description:

Seeking submissions for three understudies for The House Theatre of Chicago's production of Hatfield & McCoy, written by Company Member Shawn Pfautsch and directed by Company Member Matt Hawkins. Please see character descriptions below. All roles require singing; most require playing an instrument.

Seeking:
-Female-identifying; late-30s to mid-40s; all ethnicities; strong singer;

-Male-identifying; 40s and up; all ethnicities; intermediate to strong singer;

-Male-identifying; 40s and up; all ethnicities; strong singer; strong on guitar or banjo or other stringed instrument.

Understudy Requirements:
-Available and present during Tech, Previews, and Opening Night, and to see the show once per week, following opening. There will be at least 2 understudy put-in rehearsals. Otherwise, you are welcome and encouraged to attend as much rehearsal as you are able, particularly during choreography and music rehearsals.

-Available to go on for all planned performances.

Time Commitment:

Rehearsals beginning Nov 27th, 2017
(Mon - Weds evenings; Sat - Sun daytimes)
Holiday break Dec 23rd - Jan 2nd
Rehearsals resume Jan 3rd
Tech beginning Jan 12th
Previews beginning Jan 19th
Run Jan 28th through Mar 11th
Thursday thru Sunday evening performances; Saturday matinees
*** Student matinee scheduled Friday, February 9th
*** 5 performances per week
