Now in it's fourth year, VAMP is an open run show, currently performing every Friday & Saturday night at 10:30pm. We are looking to add performers who are strong in music and improvisation to our ensemble. Our performers come from many different training/performance backgrounds and we welcome submissions from those with a variety of on-stage experience. Please read the requirements and details below to determine if our show is a good fit for you.

Cast Requirements / Rehearsal Schedule

VAMP performs every Friday & Saturday night at 10:30pm, except on major holidays. Our ensemble cast (Key Holders) perform an average of 3-5 times per month, based on availability. New cast members (Featured Players) will perform 1-2 times per month in early 2018, with the potential to increase. As an open run show, we keep a large cast in order to accommodate actors' other shows and conflicts.

Rehearsals for Featured Players will be 12pm-3pm, Saturdays, December 3rd and 9th. Beginning in January, they will join the cast at once-per-month rehearsals (Saturdays 12-3).

Required Strengths: -Improvisation
-Musicality / Singing Ability
-Ease of Movement / Stage Presence
-Musical reference (recalls quickly and can emulate musical styles, genres, and artists.)

Bonus Strengths:
-Experience with short form or game based improvisation
-Plays an instrument
-Can rap and/or beatbox
-High reference capability (recalls quickly and can reference knowledge of music, pop culture, history, etc.)
-Characters (accents, voices, physicality, references, etc.)
-Dance

Compensation:
Pay is $10 per regular show. When VAMP performs for buyouts and special events, performers make more.

At the Audition:
-What to prepare: 32 bars. Acapella or self accompanied. Showcase your musical talents. Anything from Broadway to Beiber. Covers and mashups welcome. Have fun.
-What to expect: At the audition, groups of 8 auditionees will be in the room for one-hour sessions. Everyone will sing their 32 bars. Then, VAMP leadership will teach and run you through basic improv scenes and games.
-What to wear: VAMP cast members perform in suits, suit-pants, button-down and collared shirts, ties, skirts, blouses, cocktail dresses, dress shoes. Somewhere north of business casual and south of formal. You can visit us on social media if you want to spy on our clothes. Auditionees are encouraged (but not required) to dress the part.
-What to bring: You do not need to bring any headshots/resumes. Thank you for submitting digitally!

A drinking show, not a drunk show.
At VAMP, many of our patrons and performers choose to drink while at the show. Performers are in no way required or pressured to consume alcohol, however they need to be comfortable performing in an environment where alcohol is being consumed responsibly by fellow performers and patrons. Should a cast member choose to drink, they are expected to maintain a level of professionalism before, during, and after all shows.
