Gorilla Tango Theatre announces general auditions for two upcoming Executive Produced New Works: A Parent-Centric Comedy (Title TBD) written by Jenny Seidelman and directed by Jessica Rae; and A Chicago-centric Choose-Your-Own-Adventure (Title TBD), written by Joseph White and directed by Cara Winter. Seeking actors of all ethnicities, ages 20 - 50+, for Spring 2017 shows at Gorilla Tango. ALL ROLES OPEN. These are PAID positions.
Show #1 (Parent-Centric Comedy) Looking for performers that are 20+ in age and able to be double cast as parents and children for a parenting comedy. Parents are highly encouraged to audition!
Show #2 (Choose Your Own Adventure Comedy)
MORGAN (20s, any ethnicity, male identifying) Intelligent and sweet, Morgan has recently been dumped and is having trouble getting off the couch
KATIE (20s, any ethnicity, female identifying) Our 'heroine', whip-smart and funny, also recently went through a break up and is obsessively blogging about it
JASON (20s, any ethnicity, male identifying) Morgan's best friend, an ADHD live-wire, known for being the guy who always takes things a bit too far. Also surprisingly knowledgeable about opera and musical theater
HENRY (40+, any ethnicity, male identifying) Jason's uncle, sweet and kind, but sheltered and out-of-touch
CHRIS (20s, any ethnicity, male identifying) Katie's ex; charming and handsome, but a total dick (also plays additional small roles)
ALLISON (20s, any ethnicity, female identifying) Morgan's ex; unfeeling and self-absorbed (also plays additional small roles)
Show #1 (Parent-Centric Comedy) Time Commitment: Rehearsals will begin the week of January 24th. Performances are Saturdays at 6:00PM starting March 4th until April 22nd. Show #2 (Choose Your Own Adventure Comedy) Time Commitment: Rehearsals will begin the week of January 24th. Performances are Thursdays at 9:30PM starting March 2nd until April 20th.
Once you've received a confirmation of your audition via email, please prepare a 1-2 minute comic monologue, and bring a headshot/resume to the audition. Walk-ins will only be seen if time permits. In attendance at auditions will be directors Jessica Rae and Cara Winter and writers Jenny Seidelman and Joseph White.
