Theatre 319 is looking for interested actors to audition for their play Cryptids Anonymous. This is a new one-act play that will be recorded and distributed digitally (Not performed live). Due to the length of the play, the rehearsal process will only take place over a month.

Synopsis:
Alexis Roloff & Maggie Dix's play, Cryptids Anonymous, follows a man seeking a support group at his local community center. Barging into the current session, Phil quickly realizes that he's walked in on an unusual support session... for cryptids. Phil becomes a fresh set of eyes upon the unique problems cryptids like Bigfoot and Skinwalkers face on a day to day basis. Through wit, sarcasm, and compassion, Phil realizes this occult group of individuals aren't as different as they seem

List of characters:
MOTHMAN: 32(?), unspecified gender. Retired and misunderstood "bad omen." Previously, they attempted to warn the community about deathly dangerous outcomes. Now, they lead the support group and help their friends work through experiences and feelings after the fact. Mothman doesn't talk much, but they're a great listener. They're easily distracted by light. Otherwise, they're a pretty level-headed person.

GRIFFIN: 28, man. Husband to unnamed wife, currently experiencing marital problems. A scientist with a doctorate in physics. Took part in a science experiment as a subject to help pay for college, but the process went horribly wrong. Is now invisible (voice-over role). Griffin is a well-spoken individual; his voice is his main identifiable trait. He feels misunderstood and overlooked. Others don't understand him for who he is.

WALKER: 22, genderfluid individual. Supernatural being with the ability to shapeshift and perfectly mimic anything it sees (played by two actors). Walker faces imposter syndrome, unsure of who they really are on the inside. They also experience body dysmorphia. Walker is immature and can act like a bratty little kid. Talks nervously when not mimicking. They're a copycat and match the energy of the room.

EL CHUPACABRA: 31, unspecified gender. Goes by the nickname "Chupie." Their name literally translates to "goat sucker." Supposedly feeds on livestock, including chickens, goats, cows, and other farm animals. Currently trying to get sober from goat's blood. Looks almost reptilian. Spanish background. Chupie is snarky and has a short fuse. He's also suffering a lack of sleep due to recurring dreams of ransacking the neighbor's chicken coop.

BIGFOOT: 26, unspecified gender. A sasquatch (not yeti) who is often caught on candid camera, although most photos and videos come out blurry. None of them are flattering. Bigfoot is defensive and self-conscious of their appearance. They want to look good for the media, but don't want to come off as arrogant. Bigfoot also faces anger issues and struggles to keep their emotions in check.

PHIL: 25, man. Outsider of the situation; thought he was walking into an AA meeting, but ends up walking into a CA meeting. Not a skeptic, and surprisingly open. Phil is a causal, frat-bro type of person. He isn't totally up to date on what terminology is appropriate and what's not. Phil suffers from alcoholism and, for the life of him, cannot keep track of what day of the week it is.
