Please Note:
Child supers are unpaid volunteers and may apply for an education grant from The Patrick G. and Shirley W. Ryan Opera Center to assist with expenses that may be incurred related to their participation in this production. The maximum grant award for this production is $250.00. A direct deposit for the total amount will be sent to the super's bank account approximately three weeks following the final performance.

Susannah Synopsis
Susannah is a two-act American opera by Carlisle Floyd that retells the Apocryphal biblical story of Susanna and the Elders, set in rural Tennessee. It follows 18-year-old Susannah Polk, who is falsely branded a sinner by her hypocritical church community after being seen bathing in a creek.

Children of all ethnicities are strongly encouraged to attend. You must be able to follow musical cues. Come to the audition prepared to improvise simple scenes based on the above. To be considered, you must fit into an existing costume and be available for all rehearsals and performances included on the schedule sent with the audition notice.

The audition will be held at the Civic Opera House, 20 N. Wacker Drive. Enter the building at the stage door on Wacker Drive near Washington. Arrive no later than 15 minutes before the audition time and check in with stage door security
