Founded and incorporated as a not-for-profit theater in 1997, TimeLine Theatre Company’s mission is to present stories inspired by history that connect with today’s social and political issues. The theater’s collaborative artistic team produces provocative theater and educational programs that engage, entertain and enlighten. Celebrating its 15th Anniversary during the 2011-12 season, TimeLine has presented nearly 50 classic and contemporary productions, including seven world premieres and 14 Chicago premieres. Named the nation’s theater “Company of the Year” for 2010 by The Wall Street Journal and Chicago’s “Best Theatre of 2011” by Chicago magazine, TimeLine has also been recognized for excellence in business management and strategic planning and has received 43 Jeff Awards, including an award for Outstanding Production eight times. The theater is located inside the Wellington Avenue United Church of Christ, near the corner of Broadway and Wellington in Chicago’s Lakeview East neighborhood.
