"...It almost works, but there are villains afoot, most deviously, Fata Morgana (Amelia Lorenz), who casts a spell leaving our prince in love with an orange (hence the title). Various other plot convolutions—commented on with asides from Truffaldino (the charming Julian Stroop—follow. It's a good time, and there's a lot to admire in the well-executed song-and-dance numbers and goofy, entendre-laden slapstick. Nevertheless, I wish adapter/director Molly Lyons had made some cuts to this two-hour-plus show; many bits after the intermission feel indulgent."
