The Last Mall Santa at Under The Gun Theater

Sci-fi writers have imagined post-apocalyptic worlds devoid of privacy (Minority Report), dry land (Waterworld), even babies (The Children of Men) -- but only The Last Mall Santa imagines a future bereft of an even more precious resource: Christmas cheer. In this original stage play by the Second City-trained Will Meinen, the year is 2071 and the Christmas Wars are long over and the mall Santas are gone. But one brave soul has vowed to bring back the holiday spirit to public shopping facilities. Yet even as Santa and loyal elf Bobo plot to reintroduce the sacred traditions, will "Mr. Holiday Gift Person" find Santa first? Kevin Mullaney, artistic director of the Under The Gun Theater, directs this witty and innovative production.
