In 2010, Angie McMahon was six months pregnant and organizing a Chicago satellite event for Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert's Rally to Restore Sanity in Washington D.C. The Day Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert Nearly Killed Me is her story of how it all went down. In 38 days McMahon got $25,000 donated, was denied city permits and procured a Jumbotron to broadcast the event live while local comedians performed. Seven thousand people showed up to the event, and about 4,000 left before it ended (but not before each and everyone of them screamed at her for various reasons).
