Spirits arrive to transport a rather sweet but "weak, small, spare old man" named Trotty to a possible version of the future that takes place after his suicide (presaging "It's a Wonderful Life" by a hundred years or so). Dickens has filed the tale with his usual combo platter of strange but vivid characters; Sandys-as-Dickens plays them all."
