Between Kurt Russell's John Wayne impressions and the Chinatown setting, the 1980s cult classic Big Trouble in Little China is ripe for a western adaptation, and that's exactly what you get in The Big, the Trouble and the Little China. New Millennium Theatre Company transports John Carpenter's homage to kung fu movies to Gold Rush-era San Francisco, trading Jack Burton's beloved big rig for a horse. When the fiance of Jack's friend Wang Chi is kidnapped, the pair of would-be heroes sets off to get her (along with Jack's horse) back. The only problem is the local businessman they're after may or may not be an evil mythological Chinese spirit determined to invade our world.
