"...At least as portrayed by Keith Cavanaugh, Billy Hall, the white male, is a mere straw man utterly unworthy of sympathy, by turns hateful, hypocritical, angry, arrogant, bullying, inflexible, sneaky, and ignorant. In contrast, Hall’s lawyer, Michael Jamal Williams III (ably played by Parrish Morgan), is a saint. Though flawed, Williams is also intensely likable, wise, and funny. Why he has chosen to represent a reprobate like Hall is one of the great mysteries of this imperfect play."
