The Santaland Diaries Reviews
Chicago Reader- Highly Recommended
"...Fain gives us the elf's-eye view of holiday shopping season, miming all the hilariousness of mall culture with rubber-faced ease; he'll riff on anyone and anything, and pulls it all off joyfully. In fact, his soaring energy sometimes puts him at odds with the droll deadpan of the David Sedaris story on which the show is based. Nonetheless, this is great holiday fun."

"...While The Santaland Diaries may not be for everyone (specifically, children - and, especially, children who still believe in Santa), its mature appeal reaches to anyone who is capable of laughing at the peculiar, lunatic cheer of the holiday season in a spirit not cynical but wryly honest. It's by far the best-acted comedy with something important to say I've seen in Chicago."

"...Don some 'gay' apparel-or that ugly sweater you only bring out for theme parties as a show of solidarity with elves everywhere-and skate on down to The Santaland Diaries. An effervescent edge is always a welcome addition to any sophisticated holiday party, and Fain and company are just as essential as uncensored "Christmas Vacation" viewings for anyone surfeited with sentimentality."
