Cirque du Soleil - Dralion
United Center
Chicago Stage Review- Highly Recommended
"...Cirque du Soleil has circled back to town with their delightful DRALION. If you have seen the show before then you know what a playfully fantastic time it is. (There are also a few subtle surprises.) If you have never seen it then this is your chance to experience exotic elements, clever clowning, world class acts of amazing skill and lovely grace, beautifully evocative music, elegant costumes and DARLING DANCING DRAGONS!"

Chicago On the Aisle- Recommended
"...Watching Cirque’s remarkable troupe of artist-athletes, I found my thoughts tumbling back to impressions of circuses that came to town when I was a kid, and I couldn’t help thinking those performers who seemed so exotic and marvelous probably wouldn’t have made the cut for “Dralion.” These fine figures put one more in mind of classical statuary: the Greek ideal come to life, and capable of anything."

Stage and Cinema- Recommended
"...The stunner of the evening is Marie-Eve Bisson, who performs high above the stage in a hoop, risking life and limb with a remarkable display of acrobatics and balance, ending with an astounding and blurring sequence of spins. Basile Dragon dropped a few balls during his juggling act but those glitches only underscored the brilliance of the remainder of his performance. The pas de deux by Lorant Markocsany and Amanda Orozco was a soaring exhibition of aerial grace. The solo hand balancing by Han Yuzhen was superb, but the contortionist-and-balancing act by a group of six young ladies was a disappointment."

Around The Town Chicago- Recommended
"...While there are many typical production numbers/acts, there were some new “models” of some we have seen before; Basile Dragon’s juggling in the first act was cleverly choreographed and Hah Yuzhen does a new twist on hand balancing- wow!, along with some unusual bamboo poles. The trampoline number is also one where you will find yourself nervous for the performers who work together in going between the two trampolines, crossing each other in mid-air and climbing the fairly high walls of the set. The first act ends with a unique number where the Dralions ( two performers in a specialized costume ( by the way , the costumes were amazing) do a ball balance act that will astound you."
