Rudolph the Red-Hosed Reindeer

Rudolph the Red-Hosed Reindeer

Mary's Attic
5400 N. Clark Street Chicago

Break out your high heels and fishnets, it's time once again for Rudolph the Red-Hosed Reindeer. Back for its 17th run, David Cerda's irreverent parody of the classic children's television special has become a beloved (but twisted) holiday tradition. It's the longest-running show featuring a transvestite reindeer in the history of Chicago, and probably also of the world. With the economy in a rut, nobody believes in Santa anymore and he doesn't even believe in himself. As more and more elves are laid off, morale and morals hit an all-time low. Meanwhile Mrs. Claus, now a raging alcoholic, is wreaking havoc at the North Pole. In the middle of all this chaos, a transvestite Rudolph and his misfit friends -- Herbie the "not gay-enough elf" and Yukon Cornelia, the butch prospector with a deep, dark secret -- search for their own unique brand of happiness and accidentally save Christmas while they're at it. Every year, the show produces new tricks and this year is no exception.
