The Love of Three Oranges
600 Main Street Evanston
The "commedia dell'arte" style of theatre has been around for thousands of years, as these classic Italian farces have entertained audiences with their wacky scenarios and memorable characters. In The Love of Three Oranges, based on a scenario of Carlo Gozzi, the old-school comedy gets a new-school update that retools and revises the work for today's audiences. The story revolves around Prince Tartaglia, who's misery-filled life gets turned upside down when an evil witch curses him to search for three giant oranges. But this quest proves fruitful as the lonely prince discovers love, friendship and laughter.
