"...Education battles are being waged for and around people who themselves can't vote or change the underlying social circumstances proscribing their educational options. (Which is why Season 4 of "The Wire," which followed a group of kids in a beleaguered urban school, is so heartbreaking.) Admirably, "Forgotten Future" takes that into account, but as of yet it hasn't managed to foreground those emotionally riveting stories over the familiar adult viewpoints and gripes."
