Macbeth

Inspired by George W. Bush's first presidential term circa 2002, and an examination of our current culture, this fresh, modern take on Macbeth makes for a production that Shakespeare rookies and veterans alike can enjoy. In this classic, a violent cycle of corruption and betrayal is set in motion when the popular King Duncan is murdered by Macbeth, his trusted friend. Ross, a nobleman in the king's court, has been close to Macbeth but begins to question his true nature. Meanwhile, Macbeth -- with his ambitious wife by his side -- achieves the power he believes he deserves, but the price is tragically high. Shakespeare's masterpiece provides a glimpse into the human heart, with the "black and deep desires" found in even the best men and women and asks the question: "What would you be willing to do to achieve your dreams?"
