Attend the Tale of Danny Tanner: A Full House Musical

Gorilla Tango Theatre
1919 N. Milwaukee Ave Chicago

In this original musical, the true life of Danny Tanner and his family is exposed; promises will be broken, sinister paths explored, lives (maybe even of main characters!) will be lost, and yes, songs will be sung. Whether you're a member of the Full House fan club or scoff in a superior fashion when you hear someone utter "Cut It Out", you will find both a touch of nostalgia and an illuminating light shining brightly on the Tanners' most clandestine realities in this black comedy with a twist. Come see the Tanners as you've never seen them before. Attend the Tale.

Attend the Tale of Danny Tanner: A Full House Musical Review Round-Up

Chicago Reader - Recommended

"...Writers Chris Gorton and Katie Johnston-Smith have made Danny a psychopath who memorializes his wife by killing one drunk driver a year on the anniversary of her death. That's OK with Jesse and Joe—until Danny starts getting sloppy. The songs are competent, there are some very funny bits, the whole thing lasts a manageable 60 minutes, and Ali Keirn shows honest-to-God star power as baby sister Michelle."

"...Making Michelle foulmouthed and sex-obsessed was funny the first time, but devoting a whole number to it was tiresome. Happily, the other character choices were spot-on. I remember the TV show with the vagueness of childhood memory, so each “cut it out!” and “how rude!” was enough to jog the sense of the familiar. The music has surprisingly poignant moments, and the choreography is full of little asides and knowing winks that somehow fit just fine with the lyrics about serial killers. It’s not for everybody, but if you like your nostalgia spiked with adult themes, then this show might be for you."
