MotherStruck!

The Greenhouse Theater Center
2257 N Lincoln Avenue Chicago

In MotherStruck!, acclaimed spoken-word poet Staceyann Chin shares her personal journey to motherhood as a single woman, lesbian and activist who does not have health insurance or a "serious, stable financial set up." Called "funny and moving" by the Village Voice, the solo show is told through Chin's uniquely personal and poetic lens, exploring the ways in which the maternal process changed her life. Watch as she makes peace with the lessons she's learned from her profound experience. Tony winner Cynthia Nixon (Rabbit Hole, Sex and the City) directed the original production of this intimate one-woman performance. Now it comes to Greenhouse Theater Center in Chicago.
