Morland

The Public House Theatre
3914 N. Clark Street Chicago

Artie is sick and no doctor can diagnose her fatal disease. Eugene is sick of his sick wife. When Artie learns that her brutish husband plans to run away with his mistress, Gladys, she attacks him with all her might and appliances. When Gladys learns that her lover plans to leave his ailing bride, she joins in the offense until Eugene is put in the Morland hospital in swampy Mississippi. By Eugene's bedside, Artie and Gladys begin to bond. Mired in the muck of the love triangle and the swamp, all three are forced to confront and untangle their web of affection, affliction, hypochondria, deep-held beliefs, difficult truths and absolute lies.
