"...It all got a bit too literal - after all, there are many ways of "getting away from it all" that don't have to involve removing oneself into the woods. That came through most clearly - and frustratingly - as Wyatt Weber related the offstage adventures of Warren Swartwout, who was sent to scout REI's wares. It was more interesting picturing what Swartwout was seeing over on Halsted Street and his imagining what he could do with all that gear (his riff on "igloo bricks" alone was hilarious) than hearing the cast onstage talk about being outdoors and how they just can't wait to share their love of nature with their kids and grandkids."

"...There were some brilliant raw moments—like Ross Compton's portrayal of a man's last ride to the vet with his dog and subsequent aversion to white cars—even if muting those to cut to adventures at the pet store or other trivial anecdotes led to some emotional whiplash. Bad cell connections are another inevitable downside to the show, which could use some more creative ways to keep audience energy up while actors repeat themselves into their earpieces."
