Leavings Reviews
Chicago Reader- Somewhat Recommended
"...The play mixes history, genetics, and even supernatural elements as it jumps back and forth between past and present to chronicle a painful history that all Americans share. This is a promising work on an important subject, and director Ashley Honore Roberson's well-acted production is worth seeing, but Parrish needs to heighten the suspense inherent in the tale's premise."

"...RjW Mays as Mama Bae, Richard Engling as Governor Skinner and Geno Walker as Benny/Rafe lead a fine cast working on a terrific set design by Charles C. Palis. Playwright Gail Parrish evokes Black mysticism reminiscent of August Wilson's plotting. Parrish is a fine new voice being heard in the discussion of Black Lives Matter. This is a engaging and important world premiere, don't miss it!"
