On July 30, 1945, the U.S.S. Indianapolis was struck by two Japanese torpedoes, instantly killing 300 sailors and leaving 900 men to drift helplessly -- battling dehydration, saltwater poisoning and shark attacks -- in the Pacific Ocean. Historical drama In the Soundless Awe picks up 22 years after this harrowing event, finding Charles Butler McVay III, the wrongly court-martialed and disgraced Captain of the U.S.S. Indianapolis, in his haunting final moments. Presented at Chicago's Prop Theatre, In the Soundless Awe features TV star Jason Narvy (Mighty Morphin Power Rangers).
