High Fidelity

High Fidelity

Royal George Theatre
1641 N. Halsted Chicago

A farce-filled battle of the sexes threatens to turn into actual gunplay, in this two-act comic operetta at Chicago's Royal George Theater. Set in Chicago in the year 1900, the antics in High Fidelity surround the high-society widow Aurora and her cousin Georgina, who're visited by Thomas and his ward Henry, determined to collect a debt from her deceased husband. Arguments ensue, sparks fly and unrequited love takes its toll on the foursome -- as do several challenges to duel to the death. Loosely adapted from works by Chekhov and Shaw, the ColorBox Theatre developed this fast-moving musical to be performed in English, with music by Philip Seward and a libretto by Seward and Joan Mazzonelli.
