Graveyard of Empires Reviews
Chicago Tribune- Recommended
"...It doesn't all flow smoothly in Kevin Christopher Fox's direction. There is a sense of stasis that makes the first few scenes of this 90-minute show feel stilted, despite Romero's sharp gift for heightened language that also takes pleasure in the off-kilter ironic jab. Upon hearing of the "misfire" (and before he knows his son has been killed), Drew asks his stolid co-worker, Mac (Robert Koon) "It's ours, right?" to which Mac dryly responds "There is no theirs. Yet" — neatly making the case for the asymmetrical nature of drone warfare."

"...Director Kevin Christopher Fox's finely paced production heightens all that is strong about Romero's script, as does his strong, fine-tuned ensemble. Joe Dempsey in particular delivers a virtuosic performance as a brilliant but emotionally stunted engineer struggling with the death of a beloved prodigal son."
Chicago Stage and Screen- Highly Recommended
"...This production is definitely worth the trip to 16th Street Theater in Berywn not only for its stunning visual design, but also for the script, topic and actors. It's a complete theatrical package with only very minor flaws. Graveyard of Empires is a thoughtful, well executed work that asks important questions worth contemplating. I only wish more shows could do the same as this one does."
