"..."Foreverendia," by Brian Tuttle, centers on three kids (the ringleader being the aforementioned dream girl) who spend the bulk of the play manufacturing a land of make-believe (Foreverendia) that becomes a welcome distraction from their difficult home lives, which are revealed in clunky bits and pieces. If playing make-believe is one of the immense joys of childhood, it must be said that watching adult actors portray children playing make-believe is something else entirely. You ever get stuck listening to someone describe their dreams? That's the general feeling here."

"...No dramatic stakes are introduced until a half hour into Foreverendia. Until then, we watch actors try awfully hard to play, yet the adult cast can't capture children's spontaneous energy. The stiff production works directly against a script that's about finding freedom through imagination."

Chicago Stage and Screen - Somewhat Recommended

"...Where the show succeeds is in its ensemble. Andrew Tardif as Sir Babbles is a particular delight because he is exceedingly specific with his movement and motion. He is present and aware in the moment at all times and brings a sense of humanity and fun to a somewhat ridiculous character. I also am thankful that the adult actors play the children in a way that you forget they are adults. This can be surprisingly difficult to pull off so that is to be commended. Where the show falters is the pacing. The scene changes are angrily because almost nothing is moved from scene to scene. Almost every time there was a scene transition the show came to a screeching halt and any moment from the previous scene was completely lost. The hypnotic music box sound cue that accompanied every transition did not help either. The pace of the show needs to match the energy of the script in order to gain forward momentum and make the show not feel so long."
