Chicago Reader- Somewhat Recommended

"... But the seven improvisers make gracious accommodation for delightfully dopey audience participation, giving the evening a refreshingly communal feel. On the night I attended, they even managed to turn one audience member’s perfectly inept rendition of “Danny Boy” into the show’s emotional highlight.

"...Flanagan is dead, but don't be sad because remembering his life is all about laughs! Unfortunately, in this show the laughs are few. The problems with this improv are many. From the extremely bad acoustics in the hall that makes much of the dialogue difficult to hear or understand (a real problem when punch-lines are spoken) to the combination of the actors speaking much too fast with their thick authentic Irish brogues - rendering much of the words spoken as inaudible. It is hard to laugh when you can either hear or understand what is being said."

"...If you’re looking for an evening of interactive improv with a theme, then “Flanagan’s Wake” is the show for you! It’s a relaxed atmosphere at, with plenty of adult beverages available. As is expected at an Irish wake, you’ll be saluting the deceased Flanagan with a libation. It’s not the best show I’ve ever seen, but I had fun."

"..."Flanagan's Wake," like "Tony and Tina's Wedding," is a perfect date night for millennials and even for General X types who just want to kick back and have a good time. Political correctness is a non-starter for this show, but I suspect customers with Irish roots were laughing the loudest throughout the evening."

"...Through all the twists and turns the funny Flanagan's Wake takes, the farcical funeral is a function of familic, flippant fadoodle, and audiences will enjoy every moment of it."

Picture This Post- Recommended

"...An Irish show wouldn't be complete without a few Irish references thrown in there - a leprechaun and a drunken rendition of Danny Boy, to name a few. Overall, the show is what you'd expect from a comedy show about an Irish wake. The cast is fun and engaging and with its improv structure, no two shows will ever be the same."
