"...Whether you feel there's an inherent equine connection to aerialists, acrobats and Italian vocalists is your call, dear reader. But know that this is a show so genuinely in love with the horse that it reigns in any humans who might get the impression that they are the stars. That's a horse rendered in lights outside the tent, not a rider. That's gospel at "Odysseo," a show where every production cue comes s-l-o-w-l-y and with dignity, and good on 'em for that."

"...The fantasia of movement and derring-do that is "Odysseo" casts a transfixing spell - a mixture of nail-biting exhilaration and calm finessed by a massive creative team led by directors Normand Latourelle and Wayne Fowkes, choreographers Darren Charles and Alain Gauthier, composer Michel Cusson and a slew of designers who make the Earth move and the wind palpable."

"...Hokey on a grand scale, silly at the very highest level of technical sophistication, Cavalia's latest multimedia horse opera might charm even a bitter old man like me if it didn't consume so much of its two-and-a-half-hour running time in repetitive gambits. The trick riding is sharp, the dressage skilled, and the sight of galloping horses can be exhilarating . . . once or twice."

"...Pegasus would be proud: The vast White Big Top commanding the south parking lot of Chicago's Soldier Field barely hints at the $30 million "theatrical adventure" beneath this tent. From the Canadian-based creators of 2011's Cavalia comes Odysseo, an elaborate extravaganza celebrating the bonds between people and horses."

"...I don't know what to call it! It's too vibrant to be a circus! It's too clever to be a Cirque Soliel show! It certainly is not a "Blue Man Group" ! And, to be honest, it is "not" theater!. It is Cavalia's " Odysseo"! Two hours plus (let me tell you about the "plus"/ a half hour intermission- a perfect way to sell food and souvenirs, to be sure) of amazing horses (they are beautiful to watch) and some masterful riders. There is also spectacular gymnastics- the tumblers will "blow you away"! I guess, one might call this a combination, entertainment experience, and leave it at that!"

"...There are 48 male and female performers, including musicians, from 10 countries. The company is based, like the Cirque du Soleil, in Quebec, Canada. There is a temptation to comparer “Cavalia” with the Cirque, and there are a few resemblances, like the use of a vocalist (Valentina Sprecca) who singles al most nonstop. I didn’t understand a word she sang but she performed with engaging warmth and passion. The live musical accompaniment was supplied by live musicians perched on facing balconies high above the stage."

"...Staged in the massive white tent at Soldier Field's south parking lot, Odysseo is an odd marriage of horse and acrobat. With show styling reminiscent of Cirque du Soleil, Cavalia's impressive cast of 48 riders, acrobats, aerialists, stilt walkers, dancers and musicians are highlighted by state-of-the-art lighting and graphic effects."

"...Cavalia's ODYSSEO is, in a word, spectacular. There isn't a moment where anyone in the audience will be bored. It is amazing how much time and dedication is spent in training these horses. They behave magnificently. These equestrian acts, combined with the other performers in the show, create a unique and magical experience."
