Bound for Broadway at MCL Chicago

Live theater goes meta in Bound for Broadway, an inventive new play that experiments with the basic idea of performance. The stage is set, the cast is ready and the crowd is seated for an important preview performance of Big Break, the play within the play performed by the fictional Craftworks Theater Company. The opening number is going perfectly when suddenly, the lights go black, a loud crash cuts through the music and the leading man cries out in pain. He's center stage with a broken leg, and now the Craftworks Theater ensemble has to rush to make it look like it's all part of the plan. MCL Chicago welcomes the show that proves success isn't always scripted; sometimes you've got it make it up along the way.
