Description:

Eugenia, a nine-minute play within For One: a series of plays build for an audience of one. Created by Ann Kreitman and Mary O'Rourke, Eugenia will be performed on a staircase. Inspired by Southern Gothic literature and a 'This American Life' podcast about a telephone booth in Japan that people use to talk to their deceased relatives, the piece consists of three women meeting in a staircase to perform a religious ritual. The audience member will listen into their world through a rotary phone.

Seeking female identified actors of color comfortable with movement.

Material To Prepare:

The piece is currently being developed, and some movement will be devised by the cast. Eugenia has no spoken text so we are looking for strong physical storytellers and movers. The audition will be done in groups and will consist of movement and devising exercises. Nothing needs to be prepared; please wear clothes you can move in and be prepared to play!
