In the play, Bernarda's second husband has just died. Bernarda imposes a mourning period of eight years in which none of her children, except Angustias, because Antonio was not her father, may leave the household. Lorca explores the ramifications of misplaced values, sexual repression, and the boundaries of class in The House of Bernarda Alba.
Our production will be using movement and music to explore the tension and violence of these ramifications. Movement experience is a plus, but not necessary. ALL FEMALE IDENTIFYING/NON-BINARY ACTORS OF ALL RACES/ETHNICITIES (18+) ARE ENCOURAGED TO APPLY

Performances run Friday-Sunday from October 20th to November 12th. Rehearsals are from September 2nd to October 19th. Tech is from Oct 14th through 19th.
Please prepare a 1-2 minute monologue, ignoring type, gender, and genre. Show us something that you're passionate about, that inspires you, or that makes your blood boil. It does not have to be a piece from a play.
