The Marriott Theatre is seeking AEA and non-AEA male identifying and female identifying dancers for their upcoming production of NEWSIES (contract is October 5, 2017 to January 7, 2018). All ethnicities are strongly encouraged to audition. All roles require singing.
The audition will be held on Wednesday, June 14 at 10am for AEA and non-AEA male identifying performers, 1pm for AEA female identifying performers, and 3:30pm for non-AEA female identifying performers. The audition will be held at the Lincolnshire Academy of Dance (1260 S. Milwaukee Avenue - Suite 200, Vernon Hills, 60061).
Young male identifying performers able to play 15 to 20 years old are welcome to attend. Female identifying young performers under 18 are not being seen at this time
Please be warmed up and ready to start with a ballet combination and then a jazz combination. Bring an updated H/R or comp sheet, knee pads, ballet shoes and character jazz shoes (no sneakers), a 16 to 32 bar song in the style of the show with music in your key, and your book in case the team needs to hear more. An accompanist will be provided.
