Reutan Collective is casting actors and stage combatants for their upcoming play Wasteland Hero. Written by Kyle Encinas and Directed by Gaby Labotka

Synopsis:
Wynne is a young woman yearning to forge her own path beyond her father's farmstead in the wastes of what was once the Midwest. Her younger sister, Justine, escapes her boredom through scraps of pop culture of the old world. When the nomadic, diesel war-punk marauders of the notorious Cabal challenge their father for his land to impress their mysterious Mother, their fate lies on the shoulders of a would-be chosen hero. Skeptical of their supposed savior, Wynne and Justine know they must do something, but what?

The hero's journey is re-examined, re-hashed, and retold in this high-octane comedy adventure filled with exciting duels and inexplicable Australian accents.

Character Breakdown -

All roles are open to any race, ethnicity, ability, and gender (characters' identifying pronouns are included in their description). Some roles will be played by the same actor.

Lev (he/him/his) - Middle-Aged. Grizzled vet, protective father. He knows what's right, dammit.

Wynne (she/her/hers) - Young Adult. Go-getter, do-gooder, tough person. Hears the Call to Adventure.

Justine (she/her/hers) - Teen/Young Adult. Spirit of sarcastic sisterly spunk. More than likely to talk her way into a fight, armed with beautiful insults that'll cut you to your core.

Cat (she/her/hers) - Middle-Aged. Western embodiment of drunken kung fu. She's also your aunt. The cool one. Thinks her sister married an idiot.

Nick (he/him/his) - Young Adult. Idealist. Believes he is special. Sincere. His train is derailed at the hero complex.

Winston (he/him/his) - Post-apocalyptic cockney shit-talker. Found a bowler in wreckage and his personal brand was born.

Liam (he/him/his) - True believing mama's boy. "What do you mean you're out of cucumber water? Do you know who my Mother is?"

Mother (she/her/hers) - Middle Aged. Appears to be the kindly matriarch of a vast empire of apocalyptic warriors. But that drink she gave you? It's poisoned.

Jeff (he/him/his) - Teen/Young Adult. His Dad left his much more capable Mom when Jeff was really young. To compensate, he's kind of a dick.

Brian (he/him/his) - Teen/Young Adult. Found a box of action screenplays and comic books in the post apocalyptic wasteland. Shared them with his friends so he could talk to SOMEONE about it.

Sick Boy (he/him/his) - Does his silence conceal a deep well of passionate opinions? Or an unending waterfall of violence?

Nitro (he/him/his) - A weaver of storytelling infinity scarves.

Blaster (he/him/his) - A n00b in the world of post-apocalyptic marauding. Still hasn't looted his first Vault.
