City Lit Theater
JB
Description:
In director Brian Pastor's reimagining of this Pulitzer Prize-winning drama, 9 veteran actresses will play 28 roles, giving voice to some of the most marginalized segments of our society. JB is poet Archibald MacLeish's 1958 re-telling of the biblical story of Job, set under the "big top" of a 1930s circus.
City Lit is seeking a diverse group of women over the age of 55 to play all of the roles. Experience with masks a plus. The roles of "Nickles" and "Sarah" have been cast.
Time Commitment:
Rehearsals begin September 16. Performances run October 27-December 10, Friday and Saturday evenings and Sunday matinees. There will be two Monday night performances.
Material To Prepare:
Please prepare 2 contrasting monologues totaling no more than 3 minutes.
