Description:

Seeks two men and two women for their production of Dawn King's gripping and unsettling parable "Foxfinder." Set in a dystopian England, Foxfinder is a darkly comic examination of grief, desire, and why we believe the things we do.

Auditions will be held at Swedish American Museum, 5211 N Clark St, Chicago, IL 60640

Seeking:

William Bloor-Male-(19) Any ethnicity, a young, novice Foxfinder, thin, serious, grappling with repressed emotional/sexual feelings. Actor must strip to the waist and flagellate himself

Samuel Covey-Male-(Late 30's-early 40's) Any ethnicity. Farmer, "salt of the earth" type, having trouble talking about and dealing with the recent death of his young son.

Judith Covery-Female, (30's) Any ethnicity, attractive, sympathetic, navigating the burden of the "inspection" by the Foxfinder on her already stressed family. Actress has one very brief, fully clothed scene of sexual violence.

Sarah Box- Female-(30's) Any ethnicity, neighbor of the Covey's, close friend and confidant to Judith.

Time Commitment:

1st Rehearsal: 8/7 Rehearses Sun-Thursday evenings.
Sept 18th 2017: Load-In
Sept 23rd & 24th: Tech/10 of 12's (10AM go)
Sept 25th, 26th, 27th: Tech/Dress
Sept 28th, 29th, 30th: Previews
Oct 1st: Press Opening @ 2pm
Nov 5: Closes

Material To Prepare:

Please prepare two contrasting monologues, no longer than four minutes total, which show emotional range. One monologue should use either a Standard British dialect (RP) (for Bloor) or other rural English accent (for Coveys and Sarah).
