(re)discover theatre is currently looking for four actors of various gender identities (21-early 30's) for the cast of 'Fifty Shades of Shakespeare' directed by Molly Donahue. In "Fifty Shades of Shakespeare" we take 12 of Shakespeare's sexiest scenes and 4 actors learn all the roles in every scene. Then at the top of the night the audience draws straws to see which actor will play each role. The show produces a fun mix of gender roles and mixed pairings. We are looking for actors with great text work, comfort with improvisation and a sense of playfulness. This year we are looking to explore body positivity within sexually driven storytelling - all body types are wanted and encouraged to come out!
Rehearsal: Dec. 4-14 and January 2 - 29; Mon - Thus. 6:30-10:30pm and Sun 5-9pm
Tech: January 30- Feb 2 6-11pm
Performances: February 3-27 Monday, Friday, and Saturday at 8pm
Auditions will consist of sides that will be provided and prepared in advance.
