JLS Productions is seeking four singing actors for the world premiere presentation of MATING – THE MUSICAL by Jeffery Lyle Segal at the Chicago Musical Theater Festival.
MATING is a revue of story songs, both funny and touching, with connecting dialogue, exploring the imperfect process of finding the perfect mate. Running time will be 75 minutes with no intermission.
Seeking: Older Man and Older Woman (35 plus), and Younger Man and Younger Woman (21-34)
Performers should be equally comfortable with comedy songs and expressive ballads. All ethnicities are encouraged to apply. Also seeking choreographer/co-director.
Performers will receive $150 honorarium plus a percentage of any profit from ticket sales.
Performances will be Sunday, August 14 at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, August 18 at 6:00 p.m., Tuesday August 23 at 8:30 p.m., and Sunday August 21 at 12:00 p.m. at the Richard Christiansen Theater in the Victory Gardens.
Rehearsals will be in July and early August, subject to performer availability.
Performers may be asked to prepare a song from the show (piano tracks and sheet music will be provided) as well as a selection from their book .

Actors should submit headshots, resumes, and audition videos via email as soon as possible, but no later than May 30. Please include links to any online performances. Preliminary auditions may be by video submission, or by appointment only on Tuesday, May 31 from 6-10 p.m. and Sunday, June 5 from 4p.m. to 9p.m. at Segal Studio, 1040 W. Huron Street in Chicago.
