Akvavit Theatre seeks submissions for 4 men and 2 women and 3 understudies (ages 25-30) for their upcoming auditions for Hand in Hand by Sofia Freden directed by company member Breahan Eve Pautsch. Akvavit wishes to see actors of any ability, race, and gender identity and is committed to casting inclusively to reflect the very diverse communities of both Chicago and Sweden (the country where this play comes from).
There will be a stipend of $100 for actors and $50 for understudies.
Audition dates will be May 9th and 12th from 7:30-11pm with potential callbacks on May 14th.
Rehearsals will begin August 2nd and run to mid September with performances will run Sept 15-Oct 16 Thurs-Sat 8pm and Sundays at 3pm.
Actors will be provided with a draft of the script and sides to prepare for the audition.
Please note that there is partial nudity, sexual content and stage violence required by most characters in the script, a violence designer will be provided for the run of the show but none of this will be required as part of the audition.
