Artists Walk Theatre is Casting male roles in our late summer production of The Fantasticks, directed by David Boettcher.
All need to move well.
Color-blind Casting: Men of color strongly encouraged to audition.
EL GALLO, The Narrator - late 30's to mid 40's. baritone; a little "dangerous" but also charming; quite sensual.
MATT, The Boy - late teens to late 20's. lyric baritone; an innocent; fresh, eager, charming and in love with Louisa.
HUCKLEBEE, The Boy's Father - 40's to early 50's; baritone; a little eccentric; determined to have his plan work and loves his son.
BELLOMY, The Girl's Father - 40's to early 50's; baritenor; a little eccentric; determined to have his plan work and loves his daughter.
HENRY, The Old Actor - non-singing; a gentleman of "a certain age"; hired to carry out the Fathers' plot; "theatrical" but definitely somewhat inept.
MORTIMER, The Man Who Dies - - non-singing; a gentleman of "a certain age"; hired to assist in carrying out the Fathers' plot but also somewhat inept.
All rehearsals/performances at Flossmoor Community House; 847 Hutchison Road Flossmoor, Illinois.
Rehearsals begin August 7, six days/week - five hours/day.
Ten performances weekends of August 26; September 9 and 16.
Prefer 32 bars of a song from The Fantasticks; another song of your choice is also acceptable but be sure to bring a hard copy of your music.
If you are auditioning only for Henry or Mortimer, please indicate in your submission; you will be asked to read from the libretto.
