Casting for a TV pilot produced by an advanced workshop class at Columbia College Chicago. Baby and the Ghost is the story of Baby, a young woman who moves into a new apartment and is greeted by a ghost (Moody). They work together to solve the mystery of Moody's murder from the 1960s. The project will begin filming at the end of February.
Leading Roles:
- BABY - Female/early 20's/Any ethnicity
Baby is a young woman crippled with anxiety brought on by the many tragedies of her past. She's now orphaned, alone, and convinced she carries a jinx. She's quiet and shy, but also has strong opinions and doesn't get pushed over easily.
- MOODY - Female/mid-late 20's/Any ethnicity
Moody is bold, loud, opinionated, and can turn anything into a joke. She's also known as one of the greatest club singers of the Chicago area, in the 1960s. (She will have to sing in the script)
Supporting Roles:
- MISSY - Female/30's/Any ethnicity
Missy is Baby's older sister. She's quite the opposite of Baby in that she's clean cut, a perfectionist, and quite stubborn.
- PHILLIP - Male/30's/Any ethnicity
Phillip is a documentary film maker who takes his work quite seriously - too seriously. He pairs nicely with his wife Missy, being clean and collected as well.
- LARRY - Male/early-late 20s/ early 30s /Any ethnicity
Larry is dorky and awkward and Baby's realtor . He's the type of guy who's probably mixed too many psychedelics around 10 years ago and is still feeling the effects now.
- JOSIAH - Male/40s/Any ethnicity
Josiah is a phony paranormal investigator, only putting on a show to gain money and fame. Somewhere in between Criss Angel and Zak Bagans (host of Ghost Adventures)
Under 5 Lines:
- JAMES - Male/20s/Any ethnicity
James is Moody's smooth talking, handsome hunk of a bandmate as well as lover. James is utterly in love with Moody.
- LIDDIE - Female/60's/Any ethnicity
Liddie is Missy's nosey next door neighbor. Think Minnie Castavet (Rosemary's Baby)
- THERAPIST - Any Gender/30s/Any ethnicity
Baby's therapist. Fresh out of graduate school. They're quick and sassy but also warm and compassionate.
