The Kinematics
milkwhite / pool (no water) Auditions

Pay: Yes

Description:

A new theatre collective based in Chicago is seeking performers with an interest in social practice and with experience in dance, movement, physical theatre, or performance art for two new productions taking place in April and May. "milkwhite" by Anthony Donald Kochensparger and "pool (no water)" by Mark Ravenhill are both underproduced works that explore themes of violence, addiction, and the role of artists in society. These two plays are being produced side-by-side along with community conversations surrounding questions asked in each piece. We are casting for 8 roles from a variety of ages and ethnic backgrounds. Auditions are being held at St. Peter's Episcopal Church, 621 W. Belmont, and spaces are limited.

Time Commitment:

Rehearsals will generally take place from 7 - 10pm, Monday-Friday from February 29 - April 14, with a few additional tech dates the week leading up to the performance. The show will run Friday/Saturday at 7pm and Sunday at 3pm from April 15 - May 8.

Material To Prepare:

Selected participants will receive excerpts from "pool (no water)" that will be used in auditions. You should be familiar with the text, but no need to memorize or overly prepare. The audition will be heavily movement based, so please dress accordingly. We'll ask auditionees to be around for 45-minute windows on the date of their audition.

Contact Info:

To request an audition time, please send an email before December 8th introducing yourself and sharing any times the week of December 14th that aren't possible for you. Attach a copy of your headshot and resume (pdfs, please). Thanks for your interest -- we look forward to hearing from you!
