Clockwise Theatre, Waukegan announces Non-Equity auditions for The Midwestern Premiere of Steven Young's exciting Chicagoland comedy, THE NIGHT WE BOMBED LINCOLN TOWING directed by Judy Blue.

The Play:
2 Acts with intermission.

6 strangers gather in a rundown Rogers Park (Chicago) bar one night during a torrential downpour. All of them are stranded, their vehicles towed by the notorious Lincoln Towing. They confront one another, argue, fight, laugh, forgive, bond, some fall in love, and together they plot to bomb Lincoln Towing to regain their potency (if not their vehicles). Will they succeed?

All roles open: 3 M, 3 F

STAN - FEMALE - Any race. 25-32. The bartender / bar owner. A veteran, she walks with a limp, but nevertheless is an adept fighter. Bitter, strong, determined, no-nonsense, fearless. Some fight ability required.

JANICOWSKI - MALE - Caucasian. 55 - 62. Loud-mouthed, obnoxious, slightly racist, smoker/drinker, confrontational low-grade white collar worker, at base deeply sensitive, often sympathetic. Recently homeless. Some fight ability required.

DARWIN - MALE - African-American. 28 - 32 years old. Partnered with LILLY. Temperamental, well-dressed, powerful. A summa cum laude Northwestern law grad aiming to make partner in the well-heeled Chicago law firm where he now practices as a junior associate. Confronting racism for the first time. Some fight ability required.

LILLY - FEMALE - Mid-late 20s, Caucasian. Partnered with DARWIN. Spoiled princess type. Her father is senior partner of the firm Darwin works for. More depth than she is credited with. Wealthy North Shore suburban background. Drinks too much.

FLO - FEMALE - Mid-late 50s - early 60s, Caucasian. Quirky, sweet-natured, small town dollmaker from down state with some sharp observations. Natural mother type.

DMZ - MALE - Mid 20s, any race. Strong Southeast English accent required. Sings and plays alternative metal style guitar (think Teddy Boys, young Russell Brand) Wannabe rock star with dyed hair, tats, piercings. Charismatic young leader. Lusts for STAN. Actors auditioning for DMZ will be required to belt a classic rock anthem of your choice. Must be able to present a convincing English accent, working class, and must be able to sing alternative rock and have some familiarity with electric guitar.

Time Commitment:

Rehearsals will begin April 6, 2016 at Clockwise. The Night We Bombed Lincoln Towing opens Friday May 27th, 2016, with preview performances May 25th and May 26th. The show performs Fridays and Saturdays at 8 PM, and Sundays at 3 PM, to June 19, 2016.
