Description:

We are looking for young people approximately 9yrs old-15yrs old for Citadel Theatre's production of Oliver! Please read all information below and respond accordingly. We are very excited about offering this production to our theatre audiences.

Characters Kids Can Play (Ages are flexible-depends on who tries out.):

*ORPHANS: in workhouse and Fagin's gang. 9 yrs old-13yrs old. Some boys and girls (Will sing and dance/move.)

*OLIVER: Must sing well. 9-11yrs old-ish

*DODGER: 13-15-ish Precocious, leader of the boys, Fagin's protege. (Sing and dance/move)

*BET: 13-15-ish, Nancy's young friend (female) (Sing and dance/move)

*CHARLIE: one of the orphans

*OTHERS: ensemble members

Material To Prepare:

Auditions will be run in 45 minute time slots with 15 kids per time slot. Please be on time as we will have you do choreography/dance/movement first as a group. We will do what we can to teach your dance in 10 minutes, 10 minutes to evaluate dance and 25 minutes to sing the group. **Audition will involve every young person doing a song and dance/movement audition.** 1) Please bring a headshot or good accurate, recent picture with you to the audition. 2) Bring in a resume, if you have one. 3) Bring in, preferably, sheet music/accompaniment for a song you will sing. Pick the portion of the song that shows you off the best. This selection must be no longer than one minute long. Please do NOT select a show from the show. If you do not have sheet music, we will still try to accommodate you in whatever manner works for you. Please keep in mind there is no sound system to hook into.)
