Circle Theatre
Triassic Parq

Pay: Yes

Description:

Circle Theatre seeks non-equity men and women of any ethnicity and type for their upcoming production of Triassic Parq.

The newly-developed artistic team is ecstatic to announce two Chicago premiere musicals!

Triassic Parq by Marshall Pailet, Bryce Norbitz and Steve Wargo is "a musical not-parody of Jurassic Park from the perspective of the dinosaurs." The creative team includes co-directors Nicholas Reinhart and Tommy Bullington, and music director Justin Harner.

Seeking: 7 versatile actors, (2M, 2F, 3M/F) with expert comedic timing, strong sense of movement, and exceptional voices. A basic understanding of chaos theory strongly encouraged, but we'll explain it to you if you don't know.

Velociraptor of Innocence (M, early-mid 20's, High Tenor), Young, beautiful, and hungry for the truth. Represents the purity of mind and the fragility of children. Tap background demanded.

Velociraptor of Faith (M or F, late 20's-40's, Baritone/Alto), Spiritual leader of the tribe of dinosaurs. Stubborn and protective, s/he represents the hypocrisy of the religious right.

Velociraptor of Science (M or F, late 20's-40's, Baritone/Alto), The twin sister of V. of Faith, now exiled from the tribe for heresy. Passionate, intelligent, and a damn fine rapper.

T-Rex 1 (F, mid-late 20's-30's, Mezzo/Belt) She's a mother f***in' T-Rex. Best friends with T-Rex 2. Loving and supportive until she is betrayed. She represents, um, like, all people, generally.

T-Rex 2 (F, mid-late 20's-30's, Mezzo/Belt) Also a mother f***in' T-Rex, within whom nature finds a way, and makes her a him. She represents representation.

Mime-a-saurus (M or F, any age, non-speaking role), Tortured with a history of abuse, Mime-a-saurus represents the subtle distinction between Nietzschean Existentialism, and the unintentional yet unavoidable path towards Wagnerian Anti-Semitism. Also, a mime.

Morgan Freeman (M, ageless, Counter-Tenor), Enigmatic and omnipotent, he is all-seeing, all-knowing, all-narrating. Doubles in the ensemble.
