B-Anne Productions in association with Three Brothers Theatre is seeking actors & actresses for its upcoming production of The Underground Effect by Berylanne Lynch at Three Brothers Theatre in Waukegan, IL. The Underground Effect is a new play that explores racism, young love, social norms, and interracial love. The Underground Effect premiered in Chicago in 2014 and is now coming to Waukegan!

Seeking:
Jakira Clemens (Main character) - Female, African-American, high school senior, very smart, "no" is stuck in her vocabulary, a little stubborn, seeks trial and error, desperately searches for a prom date (Age 16-18)

Zachary "Zach" Romero - Male, Caucasian, high school senior, quarterback on the football team, popular in school, has a "player" demeanor, persuasive, has a great sense of humor, laid back (Age 16-18)

Lawry - Male, African American, Jakira's friend, nerdy, smart, wise but makes faulty decisions, helpful, down to earth, faithful (Age 16-18)

Constance - Female, African American, Jakira's best friend, a little "attitudish", open-minded but a little opinionated (Age 16-18)

Marion - Male, African American, Lawry's friend, a class clown, very trendy (Age 16-18)

Mr. Sinclair - Male, Jakira's wanna-be strict sociology teacher, a pushover, tries to control his classroom, remains professional (African American) (Age 30s-40s)

Aunt Nurse - Female, African American, Jakira's aunt, strong minded, school nurse
