Take Me Back

Pay: $100 Stipend

Description:

We are now accepting Headshots and Resumes to cast Julie and Casey in our upcoming production of Take Me Back by Emily Schwend. We will contact you within the week if we are able to offer you an audition slot.

Take Me Back is the story of Bill, a young felon who's just moved back home to Muskogee Oklahoma after serving four years in prison. Bill may have his freedom, but Muskogee is as much a cage as prison was. He is now friendless, loveless, and saddled with the responsibility of taking care of his loving but diabetic mother. With little to no options in front of Bill will he revert to his old ways? Or will his girlfriend Julie save him from a dead-end life in small town Oklahoma? Take Me Back is ultimately a story that questions whether people can change and shines a light on the power of love to help each of us move forward one day at a time.

Julie (Female, late 20s) is Bill's ex girlfriend from high school, currently living with her husband in Texas. She has an enormous heart and a keen sense of irony. She's unhappy in Texas and has returned home to see if Bill may be her way out of a friendless life of monotony. But the last time she saw Bill they were involved in a tragic drunk driving accident that tore them apart. She's cleaned her life up and isn't the drug taking reckless youth she was when she first loved Bill. She's changed. But is she willing to sacrifice her new-found stability for true love?

Casey (Female or Transgender, 17 - 19) works at Best Buy and hates it. She has a rough aggression that she typically uses to intimidate others, but now she has stolen $10,000 worth of Macbooks with Bill and is terrified of being caught. How far will Casey go for the money she needs to get out of Muskogee? And when faced with harsh consequences what actions will she take to define her future? *Please note that we are interested in casting as close to the correct age as possible for Casey.

The roles of Bill and Sue have already been cast.

Roles come with a $100 stipend.
